Amari Cooper is good to go vs Jaguars! ✅
... but the Browns haven't named a starting QB yet – and Dawson Knox is set to return vs Chiefs!
All of the most important fantasy news over the last 24 hours – all in one place.
Browns WR Amari Cooper officially clears concussion protocol, expected to play today vs Jaguars
Seemingly against the odds, the Browns’ veteran receiver is set to suit up today against the Jaguars after spending the entire week in the NFL’s concussion protocol. The quarterback turnover has not been kind to Cooper’s fantasy production over the past three weeks, with the veteran pass catcher failing to eclipse single-digit scoring in each of the past three games. And as if the water couldn’t be muddy enough regarding Cooper’s prospects this week, the Browns remain yet to officially name a starter at quarterback as of the writing of this newsletter on Saturday night. Considering the state of Cleveland’s passing attack, it’ll be tough to start Cooper as anything more than a low-WR3 with both DTR and Joe Flacco playing relatively uninspiring football. Cooper has been out-targeted by Elijah Moore in back-to-back games since Week 12 and is no longer the clear No. 1 in the Browns offense like we had anticipated him to be coming into 2023.
Bills TE Dawson Knox activated from injured reserve, expected to play today vs Chiefs
Knox returns from a five-game hiatus and re-enters the Bills lineup in a pivotal showdown against the conference rival Chiefs. In two career regular season games against Kansas City, Knox has scored a touchdown - but that was before Dalton Kincaid was around. The Bills ran the most 12 personnel of any team in the league before Knox was hurt, so there’s a chance that Buffalo gets back to that in Week 14. However, Dalton Kincaid has proven himself perfectly capable and even excelled as Josh Allen’s No. 2 option in the passing game behind Stefon Diggs, so it remains to be seen whether or not Buffalo wants to get back to platooning the position. Regardless of how much run Knox gets, Kincaid is likely to be the primary tight end on the field at least for this week in one tight end sets, and he’ll remain a quality TE1 start against the Chiefs. It’s also worth noting that Ken Dorsey, who ran the offense before Knox was hurt, is no longer coaching in Buffalo - which could play into Kincaid’s hand when it comes to snap share.
