Bijan Shines in Preseason Debut! ⭐️
Plus, Devon Achane goes down – and is there any reason to worry about Allgeier in Atlanta's backfield?
All of the most important fantasy news over the last 24 hours – all in one place.
Dolphins rookie RB Devon Achane suffers shoulder injury in Week 2
His timeline to return remains undetermined as of the writing of this newsletter. Achane is scheduled to undergo an MRI to assess the full extent of the injury, but any potential time missed to open the regular season would return Miami’s backfield to a two-man show between Jeff Wilson Jr. and Raheem Mostert – just as it was last year. Being that it’s a shoulder injury and that running backs have historically been able to play through them in the past (Dalvin Cook being a prime example), fantasy managers shouldn’t expect Achane to miss too much time if he’s sidelined into the regular season.
Bijan Robinson has yet to claim exclusive rights to the Falcons’ lead role
Robinson was excellent in limited action in Week 2, but it was Tyler Allgeier who got the first snaps of the game. The Falcons are likely taking it easy with Bijan in anticipation of a large workload during the regular season, so his “split” with Allgeier this preseason shouldn’t be concerning unless we see it carry over into the regular season (which we won’t know until we get there). Robinson did play 12 snaps to Allgeier’s 5, which is a perfectly promising share and enough that, if it were to carry into the regular season, Bijan Robinson could easily live up to his Round 1 ADP.
