Why Can't Jahmyr Gibbs Have Nice Things? ðŸ˜
Plus, another Lions weapons is slated to miss Week 5 – and Cooper Kupp is so back!
All of the most important fantasy news over the last 24 hours – all in one place.
Rams HC Sean McVay says that WR Cooper Kupp won’t be on a snap count in Week 5 vs Eagles
It’s official: Cooper Kupp is back and ready to carry fantasy teams once again. Unlike Colts RB Jonathan Taylor - who has had the idea floated around by HC Shane Steichen in Indianapolis that he could see a limited workload in his 2023 debut - Kupp has received a vote of confidence that his workload will be as close to normal as it can be. Kupp returns just in time for an excellent matchup against an Eagles secondary that has been allowing fantasy points to WRs at a very high rate, making both himself and teammate Puka Nacua attractive options this week. In a Rams offense that has prioritized the pass through four games this year, both pass catchers have the potential to finish within the top-15 at the position this week.
Lions rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs makes surprise appearance on the injury reported, listed as questionable with a hamstring injury
How the tables have turned on Gibbs since being drafted 12th overall by Detroit in this year’s draft. Just one week removed from watching David Montgomery nearly eclipse Gibbs’ total rush attempts on the season in one game, Gibbs now finds himself listed as questionable heading into Week 5 against the Panthers. The fact that he was added as late in the week as he was (Friday) suggests that there’s a legit chance Gibbs misses the game, which is obviously a massive blow to anyone that had been planning to let things ride with Gibbs in their RB2 slot moving forward. That sound? That’s the sound of David Montgomery managers rubbing their hands together in anticipation of 40 carries for Monty with Amon-Ra St. Brown likely to miss the game, as well. Speaking of Amon-Ra…
Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown officially listed as doubtful for Week 5
He’s missed practice all week and said that he could go if he had to, but it looks like the Lions are set to be without their top pass catcher against a Panthers team they should still beat with ease. The problem Detroit’s facing right now, as well as fantasy managers, is the lack of depth at the WR position for this game. Jameson Williams is set to make his 2023 debut, but will likely be on a snap count with limited preparation coming into the game. Josh Reynolds - the waiver wire warrior himself - is working through a groin injury, but is expected to take the field. That leaves Khalif Raymond as the primary beneficiary in the WR room to see an expanded role. If anything, Sam LaPorta should become a high-end fantasy play this week, especially if the Lions are going to be without both Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
