D.K. Metcalf's a Game-Time Decision! 🚨

Plus, Pat Friermuth will be out for a few more weeks - and Brian Hoyer is starting this weekend for Las Vegas!

All of the most important fantasy news over the last 24 hours – all in one place.

  • Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth ruled out for Week 7 vs Rams, expected to miss multiple games

    • Freiermuth reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury this week, which has added a few weeks to his projected return timeline. An unfortunate break for Friermuth and his managers, but with the tight end position fully streamable outside the top four or five options, replacing him shouldn’t be an issue. The TE carousel just keeps on turning. Even if Freiermuth were ready to go on Sunday, he’d be re-entering an offense that’s also getting back its top target earner in Diontae Johnson against a Rams defense that’s been stingy against the pass. The target shares are likely to be all mixed up in this game regardless, and Freiermuth’s absence should allow Johnson and George Pickens to establish their roles in the offense prior to his return. Freiermuth is droppable.

  • Raiders plan to start QB Brian Hoyer in Week 7 vs Bears over rookie Aidan O’Connell

    • Neither Brian Hoyer or Aidan O’Connell will be able to unlock the full potential of the Raiders offense, but the choice to start Hoyer in a very winnable game against a rookie QB makes all the sense in the world. Not only did O’Connell look very much like a rookie in his first start, but Hoyer looked relatively poised in the little work he got towards the end of last week’s win against the Patriots. That veteran savvy should be enough to keep Davante Adams on the WR1 radar this week in a solid matchup against the Bears, while Jakobi Meyers’ fate remains to be determined with the Raiders already onto their third starting QB of 2023. The lack of continuity under center is going to make it difficult for any Raiders pass catcher to produce on a consistent basis, but Adams should handle a large receiving workload after voicing his frustration with his lack of utilization throughout the week.

  • Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf set to be a game-time decision on Sunday vs Cardinals

    • Metcalf has been playing through a rib injury for just about all of 2023 so far, but an added hip injury will force Seattle to take things down to the wire before announcing whether or not he will play. Seeing as Metcalf has played through injury before, it’s hard to imagine that he’d be held out this week because of one. That being said, there’s a chance that Metcalf could be limited if he does suit up on Sunday - and there’s an even better chance that Seattle gives him some rest if the Seahawks would go up early on the Cardinals. Make sure he’s in your lineup if he does go, but temper expectations at the same time.
