Your roundup of everything you need to know regarding injuries around the league going into Week 6:
WR Mike Evans (collarbone) - Just minutes into his return to the field from a hamstring injury that had sidelined him since Week 4, Evans exited Monday nightâs game against the Lions with an apparent shoulder injury that was later identified as a broken collarbone. Heâs expected to miss most, if not all, of the remainder of the year, a tough blow to fantasy managers and an even more brutal way to end his streak of 1000-yard seasons since entering the league. With him sidelined, the door is open for Emeka Ebuka â who miraculously was able to suit up and miss no games despite sustaining a hamstring injury in Week 6 â to take back over lead WR duties, while Chris Godwin continues to work towards a return from a fibula injury of his own. Egbuka should be treated as a WR1 option moving forward despite the down game against the Lions, while Cade Otton will be worth a look off of waivers as long as Godwin remains out.
Nico Collins (concussion) - If Collins canât go next week, itâs going to be a mess to decipher in the Texans WR room as far as who will be the top target earner in his stead. Rookie WR Jaylin Noel and vet Braxton Berrios split snaps out of the slot for whatever reason with Christian Kirk also sidelined, and Jayden Higgins ran cardio all night despite Collins exiting the game early. Noel is worth a look off waivers and as a potential flex option given his talent, but Dalton Schultz just might be the biggest beneficiary after garnering a team-high 10 targets in Week 7 against the Seahawks.
QB Michael Penix (foot) - While thereâs no immediate concern regarding Penixâs status for this week, itâll be a situation worth monitoring moving forward given that heâs at the controls of an offense that features fantasy stars Bijan Robinson and Drake London. Theyâre calling his injury a bone bruise, but practice reports this week will tell the whole story more so than initial reports. If Penix doesnât play, disgraced QB Kirk Cousins could once again be thrust into the starting lineup â an intriguing streaming possibility for QB-needy teams during a Week 8 slate that features six teams on bye.
QB Jayden Daniels (hamstring) - Itâs not a long term injury for the Commanders QB, per HC Dan Quinn, but his status remains squarely up in the air at this moment in time ahead of Washingtonâs Week 8 tilt against the Chiefs on Monday night. The extra night to recover could be whatâs holding the door open for him to start, but given the myriad of byes in Week 8, itâs best to lock down a potential replacement in fantasy lineups sooner rather than later. The nature of the injury appeared on the field to be significant and estimations since the announcement of the injury have suggested a potential multi-week absence, but it will come down to practice reports later this week to ultimately decide whether or not Daniels will go. Without Daniels, the Commanders offense struggled against Dallas and would likely continue to do so as long as Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel remain sidelined.
TE Darren Waller (pectoral) - The waiver wire wonder played just a handful of snaps before suffering a strained pec in the Dolphinsâ Week 7 loss to the Browns. Since then, heâs been labeled âweek-to-weekâ moving forward, placing his status in question for Miamiâs Week 8 clash with the Falcons. Given the struggles the Dolphins have faced on offense overall this season and the tough matchup against Atlantaâs secondary â as well as Wallerâs age and less-than-full-time role â there are likely better options out there for fantasy managers who have been relying on Wallerâs services over the past few weeks. If Waller misses, WR Jaylen Waddle and RB DeâVon Achane would be expected to pick up the slack.
QB Bryce Young (ankle) - The Panthers quarterback is widely expected to miss Week 8 against the Bills due to an apparent ankle sprain, opening the door for Andy Dalton to draw his first start of the season. The Panthers offense has been much more effective in recent weeks, but thatâs largely thanks to the emergence of Rico Dowdle on the ground. Young has completed fewer than 20 passes in six of his seven starts this season and has struggled to support rookie Top-10 selection WR Tetairoa McMillan to fantasy relevance, making a potential game with Dalton under center intriguing.

Jets owner Woody Johnson wishes the team could âjust complete a passâ as reports swirl of the team making a switch from Justin Fields under center
Itâs probably safe to say that fantasy managers who enjoyed three top-10 fantasy performances from Fields earlier this season should set their sights abroad for their next fantasy QB, as these comments from Woody Johnson surfaced shortly before reports emerged that HC Aaron Glenn is leaning towards naming Tyrod Taylor as the teamâs starter. Fields has three games this season of fewer than 20 pass attempts and fewer than 10 completions, and with the Jets sitting at 0-7, it wouldnât be surprising to see New York throw the kitchen sink at the problem as they continue to search for their first win of the 2025 season. Tyrod Taylor has been dependable to at least support a passing game in his action over the past few years as a backup, and his being named starter would presumably raise the floor of players like WR Josh Reynolds, TE Mason Taylor, and even RB Breece Hall. The answer to their QB woes is not on the roster at this point, so fantasy managers shouldnât expect much from their Jets skill players from a fantasy perspective â however, the switch to Tyrod Taylor could provide at least a thread of a silver lining to anyone forced to start them.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel says that QB Tua Tagovailoa would remain the teamâs starter despite his recent struggles
Consecutive triple-INT outings over the past two weeks for Tagovailoa have both his fantasy and real-life prospects underwater moving forward with the team sitting at 1-6 on the year. Heâs scored just 10 fantasy points over the past two games and was benched in favor of rookie Quinn Ewers last week against the Browns, and now stares down the barrel of a matchup with the Falconsâ vaunted secondary. Itâs worth noting that matchups against the Chargers, Browns, and Falcons defenses constitutes a gauntlet for any NFL QB â but with the Dolphinsâ struggles on offense only getting worse as time moves forward, the clock is ticking on Tua and HC Mike McDaniel to show even a few signs of life in the middle of a lost season. Tua isnât startable right now, but heâll be counted on once again to keep Jaylen Waddle afloat in the passing game without Tyreek Hill in the lineup. Barring a complete 180 from the Dolphins offense, itâs hard to imagine any Dolphins QB â be it Tua or Ewers â being anything more than a final resort in fantasy lineups.

Trouble for Treveyon? is Rico being limited by the Panthers? Faraz breaks down everything you need to know about this past weekendâs action and projects ahead!

It was fun while it lasted, RicoâŠ
Despite Rico Dowdleâs monster 2-game stretch, Chuba Hubbard got the start for the Panthers and rotated with Rico by drive. Dowdle ended up with more touches, and simply performed better on his touches (18 touches, 96 yards) while Chuba was inefficient (16 touches, 55 yards). Itâs very possible that because of that, we see the needle move back Ricoâs direction, but weâd have to see it first before making that assumption. Both RBs are out of the RB2 mix unless one considerably moves ahead of the other.
Travis Hunter starting to round into form?
Is this a sign for more to come? Hunter caught 8 of 14 targets for 101 yards and a TD for a very solid 29% target share. Brian Thomas Jr struggled once again and also seems to be dealing with a shoulder injury, as well. It seems like the Jaguars are intentionally moving Hunter to a full-time WR at this point - 89% route participation on Sunday after 86% the week before. Heâll be an upside flex play coming out of his bye.
Rhamondre Stevenson has the keys to the Pats backfield
The Patriots backfield has whittled down to the Rhamondre Stevenson show. We saw the signs last week and we told you to buy cheap. Stevenson controlled 77% of snaps on Sunday after a 71% snap share the week prior. As a result, he saw 18 carries - but he also a ran a route on a whopping 81% of Drake Mayeâs dropbacks, which will likely lead to more targets if this type of usage continues. TreVeyon Henderson simply canât be anywhere near starting lineups right now. Stevenson is startable as a low-end RB2.
Kyle Monangai gets plenty of run alongside Swift
Kyle Monangai was a lot more involved from the get this week, with his snap share moving up from 31% coming out of the bye last week to 46% this week. He had 15 touches, but itâs worth noting that he and Swift were eating out of a much larger than usual pie, as Swift also had 20 touches himself. If these RBs have to split a smaller pie in a similar manner, itâs possible Swift gets even less work than weâve been used to. It was all run game for the Bears on Sunday - so weâll see if the split holds moving forward. For now though, Monangai should be picked up, and could be considered as a flex if you need the help with six teams on bye in Week 8.
