Pat Freiermuth is Back from IR in Week 11! 💪🏻
Plus, The Falcons are turning back to Desmond Ridder.... For Now.
All of the most important fantasy news over the last 24 hours – all in one place.
The Falcons are expected to restore QB Desmond Ridder as the team’s starter moving forward over Taylor Heinicke, per Ian Rapaport
As was the case when Atlanta originally benched Ridder for Heinicke, this doesn’t change the overall fantasy outlook for any of the Falcons weapons on offense. Both Falcons QBs have struggled in the action they’ve seen this season while helping players like Drake London to shaky week-to-week production at best. Ridder shouldn’t be in consideration in most starting lineups moving forward besides in the deepest leagues, and there’s no guarantee that he’ll continue to hold down the starting job moving forward. Heinicke was originally replaced with Ridder after suffering a hamstring injury in the team’s Week 10 loss, and with Atlanta on bye in Week 11, fantasy managers will mercifully not be forced to make start/sit decisions immediately in the aftermath of this news.
Steelers set to activate TE Pat Freiermuth from IR ahead of Week 11 matchup vs Browns
Freiermuth was one of the most intriguing tight ends in fantasy football coming into the season, but Pittsburgh’s offense has proven largely that it is incapable of supporting anything more than a volume-based low WR2 in Diontae Johnson in the passing game. RBs Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris have commandeered the Steelers’ offense and been the most productive players on the year so far, and QB Kenny Pickett has been in a funk over his last four games, failing to eclipse 175 passing yards in three of his last four games. Freiermuth returns to a receiving corps. that is especially crowded between Johnson, Goerge Pickens, and the running backs – and considering the low-volume approach to the passing game the Steelers have implemented this year, Freiermuth can likely remain out of lineups for the time being.
