Week 3 was a brutal one when it comes to injuries to high-profile fantasy players. Your roundup of everything you need to know going into Week 4:
QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) - Jackson left the game just before the end of the third quarter against the Chiefs with a hamstring injury that he reportedly āwould not have been ableā to return to the game with, per Ravens HC Jim Harbaugh. Now, itās all but certain that the Ravens QB misses Week 5 with the potential to miss up to 2-3 weeks moving forward. The Ravens have a bye in Week 7, so itās possible the team opts to hold Jackson out for the next two games going into the by for a fully healthy return in Week 8. In the meantime, Cooper Rush would draw the starts for Baltimore as long as Jackson is sidelined. While itās likely not worth scooping him up off the waiver wire, heās proven himself capable of sustaining fantasy-relevant WRs in the past ā including Ceedee Lamb as a borderline WR1 in the second half of the season in 2024.
RB Braelon Allen (knee) - Itās an MCL injury for Allen, who was forced out of the game against the Dolphins in Week 4 early and now faces a potential stint on IR that will cost him at least a handful of games. The good news: Breece Hall looked every bit the part of the productive fantasy RB we know him to be so far this season, and could step into increased opportunity as a result of the injury. RB Isaiah Davis also becomes potentially fantasy relevant as well as a pass catcher, and should be rostered both for some potential standalone value and what he brings to the table as a handcuff to Breece.
WR Tyreek Hill (knee) - A knee dislocation with multiple ligament tears that wasnāt easy on the eyes has Tyreek Hill sidelined certainly for the remainder of the 2025 season and potentially beyond. Hoping for a full recovery for Hill ā in the meantime, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine provided relief for Hillās role in the offense once he left the game, while Malik Washington continues to look the part of a gadget type of player. New to the party is TE Darren Waller, who reeled in two touchdowns from Tua on Monday vs the Jets and is worth a look on the waiver wire heading into Week 5.
WR Malik Nabers (knee) - The football gods can be cruel at times, and this is one of those times. Just 1.5 quarters into the Jaxson Dart era in New York ā which Nabersā fantasy managers had been clamoring for to begin after multiple disappointing performances by Russell Wilson ā Nabers tore his ACL on the infamous MetLife stadium turf. Heāll miss the entire rest of the season, leaving Jaxson Dart shorthanded with just WanāDale Robinson and Darius Slayton to pick up the slack. Both players are worth pickups and profile as WR3s with upside, with Slayton having a higher upside than WanāDale, who has a higher floor but lower ceiling.
QB Brock Purdy (toe), WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder, ankle), WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) - The 49ers are easily the most banged up team in the NFL right now, with all three major contributors working through injuries ahead of a high-stakes divisional matchup against the Rams on a short week. All three players were estimated DNPs on Monday, and Mac Jones ā the backup to Purdy ā is also working through a knee injury of his own, as well. Regardless of who starts at QB, the 49ers skill players will be in capable hands ā but if one or both of Pearsall and Jennings misses, it will only stand to benefit Christian McCaffrey, who has miraculously managed to stay healthy through this spate of bad injury luck while serving as the teamās de facto RB1 and WR1.
RB Bucky Irving (undisclosed) - The Buccaneers have kept things close to the vest regarding their star RBās affliction, conceding only the fact that Irving indeed underwent an MRI this week. It was hard to say what the injury could potentially be considering the fact that he finished the game vs the Eagles this past weekend, but his status is nonetheless uncertain heading into Week 5. If Irving would miss, Rachaad White would be the preferred start, with Sean Tucker becoming a handcuff/potential desperate standalone option as part of a good Buccaneers offense.

Browns rookie QB Dillon Gabriel reportedly set to start for the team in Week 5 vs Vikings over veteran QB Joe Flacco
The report comes from CBS Sportsā Matt Zenitz, who says the Browns will be turning away from Joe Flacco to one of their two rookie QBs selected in the 2025 draft this past April. Gabriel has held his own ahead of Shedeur Sanders on the depth chart throughout the offseason and into the regular season, and it appears that his number is being called on now to try and spark a Cleveland passing attack that has been listless through four games. While expectations shouldnāt be high for those fantasy managers who have trudged through the first quarter of the season with Jerry Jeudy and co., a change under center should be enough to at least inspire some hope that things can improve in the near future. Gabriel is the most experienced college QB to enter the league having played 63 games in his NCAA career, so the hope is that he can hit the ground at least somewhat running and get things turned around in a hurry. Itāll be a tall order this week for Gabriel, however, with the Browns traveling overseas to London to face a Brian Flores defense that has historically eaten young quarterbacks for breakfast. Gabriel can likely remain on waivers for the time being in a tough matchup, while WR Jerry Jeudy and TEs David Njoku and Harold Fannin all will likely rank in the flex territory with him under center.
Giants name rookie QB Jaxson Dart as the teamās starting quarterback for their Week 4 matchup against the Chargers
It took all of three weeks for Russell Wilson to cede the starting job to the rookie out of Ole Miss, whoās set to draw the start for the first time in his career in Week 4 against the Chargers. Outside of the game against the Cowboys in Week 2 (who hardly count as a defense the way theyāve been getting hammered so far this season), Russell Wilson is completing just over 50% of his passes, averaging 164 yards per game, and averaging no touchdowns and one interception per contest. In laymanās terms, thatās not good ā and itās cost WR Malik Nabers in two of their three starts. Enter Jaxson Dart, who was at the controls of one of the most explosive college offenses during his time at Ole Miss and who flashed serious potential earlier this year in the preseason. The hope is that Dart can bring some form of consistency to a Giants passing game that has lacked that not only in the first few weeks of this season, but essentially since Eli Manning retired. Malik Nabersā floor should be raised with Dart starting, while Dart himself can be treated as a QB2 option and a worthwhile start in superflex leagues. It remains to be seen just how long the leash will be for the rookie signal caller, but with HC Brian Dabollās job staked on the team getting things turned around in a hurry, we could see a significant leeway granted to Dart over the next few games.

Week 5 was full of huge performances, consequential injuries, and intriguing trends. Faraz breaks down everything you need to know about this past weekendās action and projects ahead!

Kendre Miller starting to flash, getting more involved in Saints offense
This game showed glimpses of why Iāve always been a Kendre Miller stan. His snap share climbed again to 31%, and he handled 42% of the teamās rushing attempts, his highest mark yet. He finished with 11 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown, while Kamara had 15 carries for 70. Kendre was actually more efficient on the ground, and he was heavily involved in the red zone. With Kamara not being the most efficient runner the last few years, Miller has a real path to bigger involvement the rest of the season, and heās still out there in almost every league.

The Eagles wide receivers go back to being useless
A week after the Eagles reminded everyone what they were capable of in the passing game, that came to an abrupt halt with the Eagles gaining an early lead on the Bucs. Itās going to be pretty tough to determine when AJ Brown or Devonta Smith (2 catches each) will have their games. We have to downgrade Brown to a high-end WR3 right now because of his environment; heās the WR49 on the year, averaging the same amount of fantasy points as KaVontae Turpin and Juju Smith-Schuster.
Woody Marks making his mark in the Texans backfield
The signs were there leading into this game with Marks getting nearly 50% of snaps in Week 3, but he surpassed Nick Chubb in this game despite not getting the start. Marks ended the game with 21 touches for 119 yards, with a TD in both the run and receiving game. His 5/4/50 receiving line is notable because of how much he was utilized as a receiver in college, so we could see that continue moving forward. Heās a must roster if heās still available in your league, and could be a RB2 moving forward if he gains an even bigger share of the backfield.
Cam Skattebo gets the workhorse treatment
Cam Skattebo just got the full workhorse treatment with 27 total touches. He played 75% of snaps and ran a route on 67%, which is the type of usage we see typical RB1s have. He wasnāt overly efficient in this game, but his role indicated that the Giants are high on him, especially when they couldāve easily inserted Devin Singletary as his 1B. Skattebo has a chance to make this job his if he performs with the opportunity before Tyrone Tracy gets back. And with Malik Nabers likely out for the year and a rookie QB under center, the Giants are going to lean even heavier on their run game moving forward.
