That was a quiet day of football 😅
You know it's bad when MVS and Calvin Ridley are both top-10 players overall.
It’s a great start to the week when there are hardly any injuries to write about in the Monday newsletter. Of course, it was also one of the quieter weekends in fantasy football this season – but there were still plenty of players who got it done yesterday. A look at this week’s leaders heading into tonight’s game:
Bills TE Dalton Kincaid exits game early vs Colts with apparent knee injury, doesn’t return in Week 10
The Bills sophomore tight end was peppered with targets early and often in his limited time on the field yesterday before ultimately exiting the game with a knee injury. After the game, Kincaid said that he wasn’t sure of the extent of the injury, but the fact that we was unable to return suggests that we could be looking at a potential absence, most likely in the short-term. In his absence, WRs Khalil Shakir (9 targets), Curtis Samuel (8 targets), and Mack Hollins (4 targets) stepped up against a lackluster Colts defense to carry the day in the passing game. The Bills were already down two of their top targets in the passing game with Amari Cooper and Keon Coleman both missing the game with twin wrist injuries. While Cooper should be on track to return to the starting lineup in Week 11, it’s no guarantee, and Keon Coleman appears primed to miss some extended time with his injury moving forward, as well. Add Kincaid to the list of players to watch on injury reports, as any time missed for him would open up Dawson Knox as a weekly option as a streamer off the waiver wire. Should Coleman and Kincaid be out for next week against the Chiefs, Amari Cooper could finally step into the heavy workload we’ve been waiting to see for him in the fantasy community since he joined the Bills.
Lions TE exits game Sunday Night Football game vs Texans with apparent shoulder injury, doesn’t return
Like Kincaid, LaPorta was on track to post his best finish of the season last night against the texans before picking up the shoulder injury that kept him sidelined the rest of the night. LaPorta’s been left out of our top-10 fantasy rankings at the tight end position for a few weeks now, though an improving role over the past few weeks could have helped him to re-enter that stratosphere in the near future. Now, it’ll be important to monitor his status later this week as the Lions prepare to take on the reeling Jaguars in Week 11. Despite missing a solid part of the game, LaPorta finished second on the team in targets only to WR Amon-Ra St. Brown. Should he miss any time, more targets will be opened up for Jameson Williams (who was fresh off his two-game suspension) and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who continues to be a machine at wide receiver as one of the most reliable options in the NFL. LaPorta did try and return to the game but was ultimately unable to, which could suggest that the injury is more about pain management and may not require an extended absence. Either way, fantasy managers should be prepared with backup options at the position rolling into Week 11.
