Your roundup of everything you need to know regarding injuries around the league going into Week 6:
WR Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) - A year of deflating fantasy injuries got even worse with the fantasy Gods claiming their next victim, Emeka Egbuka. Itās a hamstring injury for the star rookie wideout in Tampa Bay, and heās expected to miss a few weeks and add his name to the laundry list of receivers injured for the Buccaneers. While heās out, Kameron Johnson, Tez Johnson, and Sterling Shepard would be the next men up, and all three are worth a look off waivers this week. However, the return of Mike Evans could soon be upon us, and if he does re-enter the lineup, he would step right into the No. 1 role and be worth a look as a WR2 with upside.
TE Brock Bowers (knee) - HC Pete Carroll told reporters this week that holding Bowers out of the Raidersā Week 7 matchup against the Chiefs āmight be best for the long haulā regarding his health moving forward. Bowers has missed each of the last two games, and with the Raidersā bye approaching in Week 8, it seems as though Carroll could be alluding to the idea of giving Bowers two more weeks to rest and recover before returning in Week 9 (a la Puka Nacua ā more on his situation below). Bowers posted three straight single-digit fantasy performances after opening the season with 103 yards on five catches, leaving fantasy managers who drafted him as high as the second round hanging. Those who have him should expect to be working the waiver wire for the next week or two given Carrollās comments, but nothing is concrete yet regarding the second-year TEās status for Week 7.
WR Garrett Wilson (knee) - The Jetsā top receiver is set to miss āsome timeā with a knee injury, likely in the ballpark of 2-4 weeks. Wilson has struggled this season to produce with less-than-servicebale QB play from Justin Fields, and with him absent in the Jets receiving corps, itāll be up to the likes of TE Mason Taylor and WR Josh Reynolds to pick up the slack. Taylor has been on the rise in recent weeks, posting full time route participations and encouraging target shares even with Wilson on the field, so he becomes a priority pickup. Reynolds can be added as a desperate flex option, but expectations should largely be tempered given that the wheels have completely fallen off of this Jets offensive vehicle.
WR Ceedee Lamb (ankle) - When asked about the status of Lamb, fellow WR Kavontae Turpin, and G Tyler Booker for Week 7, Jerry Jones responded by saying āthumbs up on all ā itās looking good.ā While the proof will certainly be in the pudding (that is, the practice reports this week), itās a good indicator that fantasy managers who dropped a first round pick on Lamb can look forward to getting their top pass catcher back this week against the Commanders. Monitor practice reports in the meantime, but given the fact that Dallas has been in more shootouts than Al Capone this season, thereās no reason to expect that Lamb wonāt be able to hit the ground running once again and return WR1 production right away.
WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) - HC Kyle Shanahan put out a preliminary estimate of Week 10 for the return of Brandon Aiyuk, who has been out since early last season recovering from an ACL injury. The 49ers can use all the firepower they can muster moving forward, with all of Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings, George Kittle, and Brock Purdy missing significant stretches of time this season so far. Kittle also has a chance to return this week, so keep an eye on that ā if he suits up, he would be a must start given the amount of attrition in the 49ersā receiving room. Bear in mind, though, that he has yet to have his 21-day practice window opened, which is a requirement if heās going to play in Week 7.
Puka Nacua (knee) - Rams HC Sean McVay said that Puka is āday-to-dayā with his ankle injury and didnāt rule out the possibility if him playing in their game this Sunday against the Jaguars in London. Itās certainly not a glowing assessment, but itās much better than having Puka ruled out early in the week with no chance to go in Week 7. Monitor practice reports this week, but if heās unable to go, Davante Adams would be a must start and profile as Matthew Staffordās top pass catcher. The Rams have their bye in Week 8, so thereās a possibility that the Rams play it safe with their top pass catcher and give him the two weeks to rest while only missing one game ā given that potential outcome, Pukaās managers should be prepared with a replacement in the event that he doesnāt suit up.

Panthers HC Dave Canales wouldnāt clarify whether or not RB Rico Dowdle had done enough to be titled as the teamās starter moving forward over Chuba Hubbard
At this point, it doesnāt matter what Canales says or doesnāt say regarding the backfield situation moving forward: this isnāt the same backfield it was just two short weeks ago. Despite Hubbard signing a long-term deal with the team last year, any guarantee of a primary role in Carolinaās backfield is null and void after Rico Dowdle rolled up nearly 500 scrimmage yards in two games without Hubbard in the lineup. The last time the two backs shared the field, things were split 65-35 in terms of snap share with Chuba Hubbard taking on a clear majority of the backfield carries. Thatās slated to change once Hubbard returns, which could be this week ā and there shouldnāt be any surprised looks if it becomes a 50/50 split between the two. Given how well Dowdle is playing, he should be in lineups regardless of whether or not Chuba plays (albeit with slightly tempered expectations since the work wonāt be going exclusively to Dowdle as it has the past few weeks). As for Chuba, itās going to be difficult to expect more than flex production from him unless the Panthers go rogue and donāt reward Dowdle with more opportunity for his stellar play. In short: Dowdle can remain in lineups as a strong RB2/flex candidate, but it will be interesting to see just how far the backfield shifts once Chuba is back.
The Titans fired HC Brian Callahan after the teamās 1-5 start to the season
Will the change to Mike McCoy as the interim head coach make much of a difference for a Titans offense thatās spiraling as badly as any in 2025? That remains to be seen, but Brian Callahan never had the locker room in Tennessee and is out the door before the halfway point of the season. Change can sometimes ignite a team, even if itās only for a short amount of time, so thereās reason to be at least mildly intrigued about the potential for smoother sailing to be down the line ā however, Cam Ward and the rest of the Titans offense still remain a ways away from fantasy relevance until they can begin moving the ball more efficiently on a consistent basis. Tennessee currently ranks in the bottom two in total yards, pass yards, rush yards, and points per game as a team, making it difficult to trust even the volume that is available to trust their playmakers in starting fantasy lineups. What ails Tennessee likely wonāt be corrected by the head coaching change, but even slight shifts in the right direction ā even towards being just a top-25 unit ā could help put household names like Tony Pollard and Calvin Ridley back on the map.

Week 6 was full of huge performances, consequential injuries, and intriguing trends. Faraz breaks down everything you need to know about this past weekendās action and projects ahead!

Cam Skattebo doesnāt flinch in Tyrone Tracyās return
There was some natural pause coming into this week because Tyrone Tracy returned, and people wondered if Skattebo would lose some work now that this backfield was healthy again. Instead, nothing really changed. His role stayed basically the same as the last two weeks - around 70% of the snaps and over 60% of the rushing attempts. He found the end zone THREE times in a huge win over the Eagles while Tracy had just four touches. Skattebo keeps the offense on schedule, he brings juice, and the Giants clearly trust him. Thereās no reason for them to go backwards. Continuing to start him as the guy in this backfield.
Puka Nacua has an ankle injury
Reports around Pukaās ankle injury are that he will likely miss next week, and they will re-assess during his bye week (officially day-to-day). In the meantime, Davante Adams will assume WR1 duties for Matthew Stafford and the Rams. Tutu Atwell was inactive due to an injury on Sunday, and itās possible he makes his way back. Jordan Whittington would be the next man up alongside Atwell if he can make it back. These guys are nothing more than desperate flex plays in a solid matchup against the Jags next week.
Brian Thomas Jr. finally steps up
8 catches for 90 yards and a TD - thatās more like it. And he couldāve had another long TD on Sunday; it was called back because Travis Hunter lined up in the neutral zone. The chemistry is definitely getting better between Trevor Lawrence and BTJ - heās now had at least 80 yards in each of the last two games. Speaking of Hunter, he had a season-high 86% route participation, but his target share is still below the 20% mark. Heās still a hold for now, at least until the game after their Week 8 bye.
Rico Dowdle puts Chuba Hubbard on notice
With Chuba Hubbard out last week, Dowdle went off for 26 touches and over 230 total yards. You couldāve written that off as a one-week thing, but then he came back this week and did it again; he had another 34 (!) touches for 239 total yards. Heās been the heartbeat of this offense the last two games, and Carolina has now stacked back-to-back wins with him carrying the load on 88% of snaps on Sunday. Itās hard to imagine this backfield just going back to the way it was once Chuba is back. Dowdle has kicked that door open, and thereās no way Iām not starting him even when Chubaās back - Iāll live with the results. Thereās a chance Dowdle takes control of this backfield despite Hubbard getting paid.
