Jets QB Zach Wilson officially granted permission to seek a trade ahead of the beginning of free agency
The embattled Jets quarterback was scrap metal to fantasy managers across all of his starts in 2023, failing to finish as a QB1 in any contest and throwing just eight touchdowns in 12 games. Needless to say, Wilson is in desperate need of new scenery after an abomination of a third year in New York that featured a handful of benchings, questions about his desire to play the game, and constant scrutiny as he attempted to fill the massive shoes left behind by Aaron Rodgers’ injury. At just 24 years old, Wilson’s best days could very well be ahead of him –and it wouldn’t be the first time a fresh start was all a Jets quarterback needed to get their career back on track (looking at you, Geno). But the reality of Wilson’s situation is that he’ll be competing for a backup position elsewhere in the league and is unlikely to take starting reps in the NFL in the foreseeable future. Wilson can remain off the fantasy radar and off of fantasy rosters unless something comes up down the line to change that sentiment.
WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling released by Chiefs ahead of the start of free agency later in March
Unbelievable that a player who wins two rings in two years would be released in cold blood just weeks after the team’s latest victory! All jokes aside, MVS had become a clear cap casualty for Kansas City between his questionable performance and the emergence of then-rookie WR Rashee Rice. With his release, the Chiefs will save $12M this year and have one less problematic receiver to worry about as they move forward in their quest for a three-peat. With MVS out of the picture, the instant reaction is to say that Rashee Rice should get an upgrade, but the Chiefs are very much in the mix for a high-profile addition in the WR room via free agency or the draft. With both yet to play out, fantasy managers should hold their horses for the time being before crowning Rice as a bona-fide WR1. Meanwhile, MVS will be off to greener pastures likely as a depth piece, which does not bode well for his already-low fantasy prospects moving forward.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson would ‘consider knocking a few of (Travis Etienne’s) reps down to keep him healthy over the course of the year’
We are both A) very far away from the beginning of the 2024 season and B) not exactly sure how drastic such a reduction would be, so it’s difficult to gauge exactly how concerned we should be about his comments. However, we heard the same thing last year going into the season about Tank Bigsby taking some of Etienne’s reps, and Etienne went on to be one of the most utilized running backs of 2023. Of course, there’s no way to be certain that Bigsby is the player Pederson is alluding to with regards to who would be spelling Etienne, but with free agency and the draft upcoming, the Jaguars could dip into the deep free agent RB well or look to day two or three of the draft to add some rotational depth to their backfield. Etienne managers shouldn’t panic at this point or really be that worried, quite frankly, given the distance between now and the start of the season. However, be on the lookout for the Jaguars to be a potential surprise candidate to add a not-insignificant backfield name.

Sell RB Rachaad White, TB
This is a great time to sell White because of how good he was for fantasy last season. The problem was that it seems like it was all based on opportunity. There have been RBs who have been given opportunity who have produced for fantasy. I will say that White is a plus in the receiving game, so he has that going for him, but I can totally see the Bucs taking some work away in the run game next year. His HC Todd Bowles said that he’ll like that to happen:
After Rachaad White had a heavy workload as a rusher and receiver last season, #Bucs HC Todd Bowles said that he would “definitely like to have another back in here to take some of the weight off.”

Here’s why I think it’ll happen - because he wasn’t efficient on the ground. Here’s where White ranks in all the metrics that matter, and don’t use offensive line as an excuse, because besides YPC, these somewhat account for that:
Rush yards over expectation/attempt: 0.41 (6th worst)
Yards after contact/attempt: 2.53 (4th worst)
Missed tackles forced/attempt: 0.14 (5th worst)
Yards/attempt: 3.6 (2nd worst)
After a RB6(!) finish in fantasy, you can get a nice haul for White. Remember, I was a fan of White coming out of college. I thought his receiving skills could allow him the cushion to improve in the run game, but I didn’t see the improvement in Year 2 that I hoped I would see.
Buy Breece Hall
This is not a cheap buy by any means. He’s one of the most expensive RBs you can buy, but you’re not buying at his ceiling. His ceiling is coming, and if you want a RB who can go nuclear for the next year or two, he’s the RB to get to put your contending team over the top.
He was up and down last season, so he doesn’t necessarily have that elite season on his resume for non-competing dynasty teams to keep him that close to the chest. He still doesn’t have a 1000-yard season.
With a healthy Aaron Rodgers running a much more capable offense, we could see a 2000-yard season out of Hall. The fact that he racked up 76 receptions last year was incredible, and while some may think it was a result of QBs checking it down, it was more than that. He accounted for a higher target share and more first down receptions than all RBs not named CMC, and no RB totaled more yards/route run than Hall (among 16 RBs with 60+ targets).
We focus on the receiving game because targets are almost 3x as valuable as carries in PPR, and 1.7x as valuable in half-PPR. But despite the terrible o-line last year, he was 2nd in yards after contact per attempt among the 25 RBs who had 200+ carries last year. He still averaged 4.5 yards per carry, and no RB had any business doing that on 200+ carries behind that o-line on that offense. The big plays were there, as well - he had the highest percentage of his rushing yards on big plays. He did all of this one year post-ACL injury.
He’s going to be two years removed from his ACL this season on a better offense with a better offensive line, so while we might be buying high, we’re buying a league winner for those competing teams that need that extra oomph to get them over the top.
