Zay Flowers Practices in Full on Friday! 🌸
Plus, Marquise Brown is trending towards not playing – and Zay Jones is questionable!
All of the most important fantasy news over the last 24 hours – all in one place.
Ravens rookie WR Zay Flowers returns in full to practice Friday after mysteriously missing Thanksgiving practice
We speculated jokingly yesterday on the podcast that the Ravens held Flowers out of practice on Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving, but things appeared to be trending in the wrong direction for the rookie pass catcher after being originally listed as limited on Wednesday and then being downgraded to out on Thursday. That’s been turned completely on its head as of today, with Flowers being listed as a full-go in Friday’s practice. He’s now slated to take the field in Week 12 against a very squishy Chargers passing defense. Flowers has been in a funk as of late, earning season-low target shares over the past five weeks and leaving fantasy managers hanging in the box score in that same time span. If there were a matchup for him to get right in, it would be this one - fantasy managers can look to start him as an upside flex play and even as a WR3 if necessary.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown officially listed as questionable heading into Sunday, missed two straight practices to finish week
After two straight disappointing games with Kyler Murray back at the controls, Brown is trending towards missing Sunday’s contest against the Rams – and in effect, his chances to turn things around this week for the rest of his fantasy season. After being touted as a potential fantasy WR1 the rest of the way by not only us here at Upper Hand Fantasy, but also many in the fantasy community, Brown has rattled off back to back duds in admittedly tough matchups. Brown has not practiced since Thursday when he was originally designated as a DNP, and even if he does end up suiting up, there’s a chance that he’s limited for the game against the Rams - and it’s hard to imagine a worse fantasy output than what we’ve seen a healthy Hollywood Brown put out these past two weeks. The Hollywood writers strike may have ended a few weeks ago, but things have stayed stone cold for Brown, who has a real shot at missing Week 12. Fantasy managers shouldn’t think twice about leaving him on their bench at this point this week.
Jaguars WR Zay Jones officially questionable for Week 12 vs Texans with knee injury
The status of Zay Jones has been paramount in determining the type of fantasy day Calvin Ridley has so far this season, so mentioning in this newsletter that he’s trending towards playing despite being listed as questionable felt appropriate. Of course, this is as fluky a trend as you’ll find in the history of fantasy football, but it can’t be denied that Ridley has been a clear fantasy WR1 while Zay Jones has been on the field compared to a backend WR3 without him. Take this coincidence for what you will. All jokes aside, the Jaguars’ perimeter receivers have tough matchups against Houston this week, and the numbers indicate that Christian Kirk will have the best matchup this week in the slot against the Texans.
